Cape Horn / Wulaia Bay – Nov 20, 2007

We sailed through Beagle and Murray channels over night. Certain part of the route was open sea and it got pretty rough. However, Cape Horn was the most interest part of this cruise; therefore, we all woke up early and got to the zodiac to visit Cape Horn. While we were waiting for boarding the zodiac, we experienced the weather turning from sunny, to raining, to snowing and back to sunny. Man!, this was their spring time.

Cape Horn is the south most point of the South American and it is also referred to as “beyond the end of the world”. There is only one Chilean Family heading by a Chilean Navy officer in Cape Horn.

We visited Wulaia Bay in the afternoon. Some of us went for a hike to the top of the hill to view the Wulaia Bay. The road to the top of the hill was very muddy. Thanks for the rubber boots provided by the Mare Australis, so we did not have to ruin our own hiking shoes. It was definitely worth to be on top of the hill to view the beautiful Wulaia Bay.

We had a farewell party in the evening.  Victor and Regina were again the main entertainers.
